Although Audemars Piguet found itself in critical position because of crashes on the stock market as well as the Great Depression it was able to come back. The World War II is the period when Audemars Piguet created several successful timepieces.

After death of Audemars Piguet founders their production was in decline, until the grand appearance of Royal Oak. In 1972 well-known Gerald Genta designed legendary watch.
