Brooks Beast Running Shoe Review
Brooks Beast Running Shoe ReviewBrooks has a long tradition as a best distance running shoes, dating back to the 70's. Brooks was one of the first shoe makers to help correct over-pronation. Over the years Brooks continued to cater to over-pronaters, eventually developing the Men's Beast and the Women's Ariel.
Everything about this distance shoe model is designed to fix over-pronation. The Beast sports an extensive medial post made out of firm rubber and also a diaganol roll bar. This device helps support the mid-side of the shoe, preventing the runner from collapsing the side of the shoe. The shoes are known for a very soft and smooth run, as opposed to the "bricks" of years past that were used to handle motion control.
The fit of the shoe tends to be large, as the shoes are made for larger framed runners. In our test, the shoes felt great and got more comfortable the more broken in they became - as all stiffnes dimished with more distance running.
Seeing that this is the benchmark shoe in the motion control category, you would expect this shoe to exceed expectations in all categories. In our tests, we found that to be true. This model sets performance standards that are very high for a motion control trainer. We can easily see why the Brooks Beast and Ariel have been tops in the motion control category for so long. They provide a maximum amount of protection from over-pronation and do so in a shoe that is comfortable, well cushioned and fun to run in.
